Two of the best mares in North America´s trotting history have ended their racing career. Not surprisingly, they will have partners from the Valley Victory paternal line; the big difference is that Mission Brief is also out of that fatherliness, while Bee A Magician represents the Star´s-Pride male line.

Especially in the pedigree of the hopefully 2018 born foal of Father Patrick and Mission Brief it teems with Valley Victory blood, one can see a 5+4x4 linebreeding, also a 4x4 linebreeding to Pine Chip, one of the best damsires in trotting history.

Bee A Magician, on the other hand, as a daughter of Kadabra is open for nearly each and every modern stallion, so it’s no surprise that she’s going to the hottest of all, to Muscle Hill.

We also took a look of the crop of 2018 from Cane Run Farm. In- respectively Linebreeding made the Standardbred so fast (see our analysis Inbreeding or not? from December 2014), so again no surprise that only 3 of the 13 mating patterns of the successful farm doesn’t show an In-/Linebreeding in the first 3 generations. The matings are a good mixture of proven stallions like Credit Winner, Muscle Massive, Donato Hanover, Cantab Hall (see what Elizabeth Caldwell says about him here), Conway Hall and of course Muscle Hill, and on the other hand successful newcomers like Chapter Seven as well as brand new entries like Bar Hopping and Standardbred World Record Holder Always B Miki.
